Admission and Appeal arrangements

Naphill and Walters Ash School is a community school in Buckinghamshire and as such the Admissions Authority is Buckinghamshire County Council. All admissions are managed by their Admissions team, including in-year ones. If parents contact the school they will be referred onto the local authority.

Years R –  are limited to 45 children meaning a maximum school capacity of 315. If the school is over-subscribed, (i.e. more children wish to attend the school than there are vacant places available), places will be allocated based on the criteria detailed in the admissions policy.

Moving Schools – Moving Into and Out of Buckinghamshire

If you are moving into Buckinghamshire, and wish for your child to join our school, you will need to complete the online application form on the Buckinghamshire Council website. You will need to upload supporting evidence with your application. For our service families, if you are yet to be allocated SFA, you can use your assignment order as proof of address. Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an acknowledgment e-mail. Buckinghamshire Council will advise you when they have processed your application.

Please telephone or email us so that we are aware of your application.

If you are moving out of Buckinghamshire, you will need to apply for a school place for your child with the relevant council of the area you are moving to. Some schools you can apply directly to, the in-year application checker on the Buckinghamshire Council website will advise who you need to apply to. You will need evidence of your new address in order to apply. Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an acknowledgment e-mail. Buckinghamshire Council will advise you when they have processed your application.

Please ensure you inform us as soon as you know your child will be leaving. This will enable us to complete paperwork and prepare your child’s books for them to take with you when you leave. Our Family Liaison Officer will also complete a memory book and transition work with your child.

Moving Schools – Within Buckinghamshire

If your child is currently attending a Buckinghamshire local authority school and you wish to move your child to another school within Buckinghamshire, you will need to complete the online application form which can be found on the Buckinghamshire Council website. Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an acknowledgment e-mail. Buckinghamshire Council will advise you when they have processed your application. At the present time, there is no requirement to complete the in-year transfer form which is signed by the head teacher of your child’s current school.

Moving up to Secondary School

Secondary schools in Buckinghamshire are for children aged 11-18 and are made up of all ability schools, grammar schools (for children who qualify through the Secondary Transfer Test process), and special schools (for children with an Education, Health & Care Plan).

Pupils in Buckinghamshire have the option of sitting the Secondary Transfer Test at the beginning of Year 6. Children who attend a Buckinghamshire local authority primary school do not need to register to sit the test. If you do not wish your child to sit the test, please inform the school in writing.

Applications for secondary school places need to be made via Buckinghamshire Council within the timeframes stated.

 

 

SEPTEMBER 2025 – Reception Intake

We will be holding 2 open events for Reception 2025 intake in the Autumn term.  They will be held on:

Thursday 17th October – 9:15am

Tuesday 12th November – 1:30pm

There is no requirement to book onto these events.  Please arrive at the main school hall.  There will be a talk from the head teacher Miss K Gwynn and head of Foundation stage Mrs J Pascoe.  After this you will have the opportunity to have a tour around our school led by our Year 6 pupils.
