Computing Statement
Intent
To develop a broad and deep understanding of computing and how it links to children’s lives through a well delivered curriculum. To give the opportunities for consolidation, challenge and variety in lessons throughout the school. To teach problem solving skills and how to evaluate and apply information technology to create responsible, confident and competent users of information technology.
Implementation
To include revision, analysis and problem solving through sequences of lessons delivered confidently by teachers, to develop a love of the digital world and understanding its relevance to their future. A clear focus on using algorithms, programming and coding taught in a progressive curriculum across the school, which is clear in purpose and outcome.
Impact
To ensure Computing is loved and enjoyed across the school and taught by teachers with high expectations supported by clear assessment. Children will use digital and technical vocabulary accurately whilst developing technical skills when using hardware and software. Children will see the digital world as part of their lives, using technology confidently and safely.
